Latrun (monastery of the silent)

09.00 – Latrun (monastery of the silent)
The monastery is located on a strategically important place between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. All monks keep a vow of silence. But, despite this, excellent wines, olive oil, soap and religious souvenirs are produced from their vineyards – all this can be bought in a shop at the monastery. The service is conducted in French.

Beit Jamal Monastery (Beit Shemesh)

10.30 – Beit Jamal Monastery (Beit Shemesh)
Built in 1932 on the ruins of a 6th century Byzantine church. Very beautiful stained glass windows and mosaics. From Arabic, the name translates as “house of beauty.” Indeed, there is something to see!

Convent of Our Lady and the Ark of the Covenant (Abu Ghosh)

12.00 – Convent of Our Lady and the Ark of the Covenant (Abu Ghosh)
This is an amazing place where the continuity of religions is visible: on the roof of the monastery there is a statue of the Virgin Mary with a baby in her arms on the Ark of the Covenant, and they are looking at Jerusalem! Catholic monastery!

Ein Karem (Source of the Virgin Mary. Church of the Visitation / Franciscan monastery)

14.00 – Ein Karem (Source of the Virgin Mary. Church of the Visitation / Franciscan monastery)
The holy spring is still the same place where Mary and the archangel Gabriel met, who told her the good news! And the Church of the Visitation stands on the site of the house of Zechariah and Elizabeth, where Mary came after meeting with the archangel. Only 2 thousand years have passed, and they talk about these events as if everything happened yesterday. And you become a part of them!

Franciscan monastery of John the Baptist in the desert (Even Sapir)

15.30 – Franciscan monastery of John the Baptist in the desert (Even Sapir)
This Franciscan monastery was built to commemorate the birth of John the Baptist. The abbot is always Spanish. The Spanish royal family maintains the existence of the monastery to this day. In the monastery garden there is a crypt where St. Elizabeth the mother of John the Baptist is buried. And in the monastery itself there are very valuable works of art, which you can also see on this tour.
